Court orders removal of dialogues from film ‘Lalibazar’

KATHMANDU: The Patan High Court has ordered the removal of several dialogues from the currently screening Nepali film Lalibazar.

The order was issued on Wednesday in response to a writ petition filed by Roshani Badi.

According to the court’s directive, the dialogues “Badi,” “offering for the king,” and “the king’s property” must be removed from the film.

The court also drew the attention of the Film Examination Committee, warning that action could be taken if the specified dialogues are not removed.

With the issuance of the order, the legal dispute surrounding Lalibazar has reached a conclusion.
