Home Minister Sudan Gurung directs security personnel to enforce law firmly
Home Minister Sudan Gurung has instructed security personnel to stand firm in enforcing the law. During an inspection of the Lalitpur District Police Range in Jawalakhel on Wednesday morning, he urged officials to perform their duties in a transparent manner. Police spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra said Minister Gurung also inspected the police station at Satdobato in Lalitpur.
Former Prime Minister KP Oli arrested
Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has been arrested. He was taken into custody a short while ago from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, and has been transported to the District Police Office, Kathmandu. Police had been deployed in Gundu since overnight in preparation for the arrest. Oli, who is also the chairman of the CPN-UML, was taken away in a police vehicle.
Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak arrested
Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has been arrested. An official from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office confirmed that Lekhak was taken into custody from his residence in Katunje, Bhaktapur. The arrest follows a decision by the newly formed government to implement the report of the inquiry commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki.
Oli, Lekhak to be produced in court on Sunday
KP Sharma Oli, former prime minister and chair of the CPN-UML, and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak will be presented in court on Sunday, police said. Both leaders were arrested on Saturday morning and are currently being held at the Kathmandu District Police Range. As courts remain closed on Saturday, authorities plan to produce them before the court on Sunday. Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak arrested, held at Maharajgunj barracks
Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak has been arrested by Nepal Police and is being held at the No. 2 Battalion in Maharajgunj. Police arrested him from his residence in Katuwanj, Bhaktapur, on Saturday morning. Family sources confirmed that he is currently at the Maharajgunj barracks. According to police, the arrest was carried out in line with the recommendations of the commission headed by former Justice Gauribahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate the Gen Z Movement.
23 UML mass organizations to stage nationwide protest against Oli’s arrest
Twenty-three mass organizations of the CPN-UML have announced plans to stage protests across the country today at 3 pm against the arrest of party chair and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli. The decision was taken at a central secretariat meeting held at the party’s central office in Chyasal, which directed the mass organizations to lead the protests on behalf of the party. Oli admitted to TU Teaching Hospital
Chair of the CPN-UML KP Sharma Oli has been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. Oli, who was arrested on Saturday morning, was taken to the hospital and admitted to bed number 501 in the Annex One building of the hospital. Superintendent of Police Pawan Bhattarai of the Kathmandu District Police Range said Oli, a kidney transplant patient, was admitted to the hospital following doctors’ recommendations.

The Nepali Congress is organizing a parliamentary orientation program for newly elected lawmakers today. One killed after flood sweeps man away in Roshi River along BP Highway
One person has died after being swept away by a flood in the Roshi River along the BP Highway. The deceased has been identified as Kunsang Tamang, a resident of Roshi–7 who was working on the BP Highway, according to Roshi Rural Municipality Vice Chair Jwala Waiba. The highway has been completely obstructed due to flooding triggered by continuous rainfall.
