Western low-pressure system brings cloudy skies and rain

KATHMANDU: Nepal is currently under the influence of a western low-pressure system combined with local winds.

Most parts of the country are cloudy, with rainfall reported in some areas of Gandaki and Bagmati provinces, and light rain or snow in a few hilly and mountainous regions, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and partly cloudy elsewhere.

The Division has warned of the possibility of moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in isolated hilly and mountainous regions across the country.

Tonight, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected elsewhere. Light rain or snowfall may occur in one or two locations in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and in the mountainous areas of Bagmati province.
