National Anti-Money Laundering Day being observed today



KATHMANDU: National Anti-Money Laundering Day is being observed across the country today with various programs.

The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI) is marking the day with a function attended by Finance Minister Rameshore Khanal. Director General Gajendra Thakur stated that the day is observed to commemorate the enactment of the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2064 BS.

The Council of Ministers had decided on December 31, 2024, to observe the day every year on Magh 14 according to the Nepali calendar.

The anti-money laundering initiatives aim to prevent financial crimes, ensuring fair business practices and supporting a resilient economy.
