KATHMANDU: Weather conditions remain largely cloudy across much of Nepal, with moderate rainfall reported in Kathmandu Valley and other areas amid continued monsoon activity.
The country is experiencing the influence of monsoon winds as well as some westerly winds, while a well-marked low-pressure system is located over Uttar Pradesh, India.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, weather conditions are generally cloudy in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. The Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces are also mostly cloudy, while the Terai areas of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces are experiencing partly cloudy conditions.
Moderate rainfall is currently occurring in Kathmandu Valley and several other parts of the country. Moderate rain or snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is being reported from many places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.
Similar weather conditions are prevailing in some areas of the Himalayan and hilly regions of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, as well as in a few places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.
Moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is also expected in many parts of the Terai in Sudurpashchim province, some areas of Lumbini province, a few places in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and one or two locations in the Terai areas of Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
