KATHMANDU: The number of tourists reported missing following the flooding of the Bhotekoshi River has risen to 644, according to the latest update from the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).
The board said Indian nationals account for the largest number of missing tourists, with 178 reported missing. The list also includes 127 Nepali tourists, 65 from the United States and 53 from Ukraine.
Similarly, 51 Malaysian tourists, 35 Australians, 33 British nationals and 25 Canadians have been reported missing. The Nepal Tourism Board said nine tourists from Singapore, eight from Russia, eight from Germany, and six each from Latvia and South Africa are also missing.
The Board said the figures were compiled from information collected from travel agencies and tourism-related companies.
