KATHMANDU: Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal has announced that 158 depositors of the troubled Tulsi Cooperative have received refunds of their savings.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Minister Rawal said the government is continuing its efforts to return depositors’ money using funds recovered through loan collection and the management of assets belonging to crisis-hit cooperative institutions.

According to the minister, the refunds to 158 Tulsi Cooperative depositors were made under the same recovery and repayment process.

Rawal said the government is implementing the repayment programme in accordance with existing legal provisions, ensuring that funds recovered from problematic cooperatives through loan recovery and asset management are returned to their respective depositors.

She reiterated the government’s commitment to continuing the process of recovering assets and repaying affected savers of financially troubled cooperative institutions.
