NCP central coordination committee meeting today, key organisational decisions likely

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the central coordination committee of the Nepal Communist Party is scheduled to take place today at the party’s central office in Parisdanda at 1 pm.

The meeting is expected to table a special proposal jointly prepared by coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal and co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal.

According to leader Prakash Jwala, the meeting is likely to take concrete decisions regarding the division of responsibilities among party leaders, allocation of departmental roles, and the full formation of the secretariat and central working committee.

A previous meeting held on April 16 had entrusted Dahal and Nepal with the responsibility of preparing the proposal.

Discussions are also expected on endorsing the election review report and finalizing organizational responsibilities. Leaders said efforts are being made to maintain a balance between the former Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and CPN (Unified Socialist) while distributing responsibilities.

The party is preparing to assign key organisational roles—including provincial in-charges, deputy in-charges, coordinators and co-coordinators—primarily to senior leaders.

The meeting will also deliberate on proposals to give full shape to a 125-member central secretariat and a 601-member central working committee, in line with the party statute.
