Cabinet meeting underway at Singha Durbar

KATHMANDU: The first Cabinet meeting of the newly formed government has begun at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

Ministers, who were sworn in earlier today, have arrived at the Prime Minister’s Office to attend the meeting.

President Ram Chandra Paudel appointed Balendra (Balen) Shah as Prime Minister earlier today, while newly appointed ministers also took the oath of office and secrecy.

Following the swearing-in, members of the Cabinet have reached Singha Durbar and assumed their official duties.

The meeting is expected to take decisions on several urgent government matters. However, most ministers have yet to make their first official decisions after assuming office.
