KATHMANDU: A Nepali woman has allegedly been gang-raped in Gurugram, India.
According to Indian news agency PTI, three individuals, including an auto-rickshaw driver, are accused of sexually assaulting the woman.
Police officials said the auto driver has been taken into custody and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the concerned police station. The victim is reported to be a 26-year-old woman residing in Kurukshetra.
Indian media reported that she works in the private sector and had traveled to Gurugram to meet a friend. She later boarded an auto-rickshaw in which three other individuals were present.
She reportedly regained consciousness in a room at a house in the Naharpur Rupa area. She subsequently approached the police and filed a complaint alleging that she had been gang-raped by three men.
Police have arrested the auto-rickshaw driver, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. A local court has remanded him to judicial custody. Authorities said efforts are underway to locate the other absconding suspects.
