The vehicles received from India for election purposes have been assembled at Singha Durbar. On Tuesday, the Indian Embassy formally handed over 61 cabin pickup vans to the Nepal government during a program held at Singha Durbar.

In addition, 54 more vehicles arrived at Singha Durbar on Wednesday. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, these vehicles are yet to be formally handed over.

The Home Ministry had requested vehicles from the Government of India under material assistance for election purposes through the Ministry of Finance. Accordingly, India provided 61 vehicles in the first phase.

For the upcoming election, the Government of India is expected to provide around 650 vehicles of various sizes. After the vehicles are formally handed over to the Nepal government, they will be distributed to different locations and agencies based on need and utility during the election period, the Home Ministry said.
