Two reports tabled in National Assembly meeting



KATHMANDU: Two reports were tabled at the National Assembly meeting held on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Chairperson of the Legislation Management Committee Tulsakumari Dahal presented the Report of the Legislation Management Committee on the Film Bill, 2081.

Similarly, the Annual Report of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee for Fiscal Year 2081/82 was also tabled in the House. The report was presented by Committee Chairperson Sonam Geljen Sherpa.

While presenting the committee report on the Film Bill, Chairperson Dahal said the proposed law is important for developing the film sector as a social, cultural, and entertainment industry. She added that the bill aims to promote Nepal as a tourism destination through films, introduce provisions for film screening prior to release, and strengthen mechanisms for promotion and regulation of the sector.

The next meeting of the National Assembly is scheduled to be held on Wednesday at 1:15 pm.
