KATHMANDU: Nepal and Senegal have established diplomatic relations.
Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, who is in New York to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, and Senegalese Foreign Minister Cheikh Niang signed a joint statement on the establishment of diplomatic relations on Thursday, according to the Foreign Minister’s private secretariat.
Prior to the signing, the two foreign ministers held a meeting during which they discussed various issues of mutual interest, according to the secretariat.
With the establishment of diplomatic relations with Senegal, Nepal’s diplomatic ties have now expanded to 188 countries.
