KATHMANDU: Fuel has been sent to areas affected by the Rasuwa floods to support helicopters deployed for search and rescue operations.
Nepali Army helicopters carrying around two dozen drums of fuel took off from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for the flood-hit areas.
Four Army helicopters are currently involved in search and rescue operations in the affected areas. The fuel was reportedly dispatched after the helicopters began running low on fuel during the ongoing rescue efforts.
Security has also been tightened at Tribhuvan International Airport amid the emergency response.
