KATHMANDU: Seven people injured in the Rasuwa floods have been airlifted to Kathmandu for treatment.
Four of the injured have been admitted to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, while three have been taken to the Trauma Center.
Dr. Gopal Sedhai, spokesperson for the Teaching Hospital, said the four injured people brought to the facility following Wednesday’s floods are receiving treatment. He said treatment has already begun and that the condition of some of the patients is critical.
The hospital has activated its disaster code to prepare for the influx of patients. “We are on standby for treatment. The hospital’s disaster code is active. We have kept beds ready, including ICU beds and ventilators,” Sedhai said.
He added that the hospital’s helipad has also been kept on standby for the evacuation of additional injured people from the disaster-affected areas.
Meanwhile, three injured people have been brought to the Trauma Center. All three are from Nuwakot, according to Dr. Rudra Marasini, medical superintendent of the center.
The three patients—two men and a woman—have sustained injuries to their abdomen, arms and waist. They are currently receiving treatment in the emergency department.
