KATHMANDU: The Nepali Army (NA) has mobilized a team to carry out search and rescue operations and assist in disaster management following the Bhotekoshi River flood.
The Army’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information said military personnel were deployed immediately after receiving reports that the flood on Wednesday morning had caused damage from Timure and Syafrubesi to downstream areas.
According to the directorate, two Army helicopters have landed in Trishuli Bazaar to assist with search and rescue operations.
An emergency medical team has also been deployed to Trishuli District Hospital. Rescue teams from the Army’s Dhunche and Trishuli barracks have been dispatched to the affected areas.
The Army has also mobilized personnel with specialized disaster-management skills from Brigade No. 6, based in Gajuri, Dhading, to support the response.
