US dollar strengthens slightly against Nepali rupee



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has published the foreign exchange rates for today, showing a slight appreciation of the US dollar.

According to the central bank, the buying rate of one US dollar has been fixed at Rs 150.07, while the selling rate stands at Rs 150.67. Similarly, the euro is priced at Rs 174.17 for buying and Rs 174.87 for selling, the UK pound sterling at Rs 201.30 and Rs 202.11, and the Swiss franc at Rs 190.23 and Rs 190.99, respectively.

Among other currencies, the Australian dollar is set at Rs 104.61 for buying and Rs 105.02 for selling, the Canadian dollar at Rs 108.80 and Rs 109.24, and the Singapore dollar at Rs 117.36 and Rs 117.83.

The buying rate for 10 Japanese yen is Rs 9.45 and the selling rate Rs 9.48. Likewise, the Chinese yuan is traded at Rs 21.76 for buying and Rs 21.85 for selling, the Saudi riyal at Rs 40.40 and Rs 40.56, and the Qatari riyal at Rs 41.16 and Rs 41.32.

Other rates include the Thai baht at Rs 4.62 (buying) and Rs 4.64 (selling), UAE dirham at Rs 40.86 and Rs 41.02, Malaysian ringgit at Rs 37.85 and Rs 38.00, and 100 South Korean won at Rs 10.02 and Rs 10.06.

Similarly, the Swedish krona is priced at Rs 16.15 for buying and Rs 16.22 for selling, while the Danish krone stands at Rs 23.31 and Rs 23.40.

The buying rate of the Hong Kong dollar has been set at Rs 19.20 and the selling rate at Rs 19.27. The Kuwaiti dinar is fixed at Rs 489.62 (buying) and Rs 491.58 (selling), the Bahraini dinar at Rs 397.48 and Rs 399.07, and the Omani rial at Rs 389.79 and Rs 391.35.

The exchange rate for 100 Indian rupees has been set at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.15 for selling.

The central bank noted that these rates are subject to revision at any time, and rates offered by commercial banks may vary. Updated rates are available on the bank’s official website.
