Health Minister Gautam meets US Embassy Acting Chief



KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Sudha Sharma held a courtesy meeting with Scott Urbom, Acting Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States, Kathmandu, at the ministry on Thursday.

According to the Ministry, the meeting discussed the long-standing friendly relations between Nepal and the United States, cooperation in the health sector, and US support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two sides also exchanged views on American assistance in improving maternal and child health, disaster management, and strengthening Nepal’s health system.

During the meeting, Minister Gautam expressed gratitude for the US contribution toward strengthening Nepal’s healthcare system and supporting the country’s socio-economic development.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing mutual respect, understanding and partnership, and to continuing collaboration in the health sector in the days ahead.
