First phase of RSP convention voting concludes, focus shifts to leadership election

KATHMANDU: The first phase of voting under the general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has concluded, with delegates casting ballots to elect members of the party’s central committee.

The vote marks the initial stage of the party’s internal election process. Vote counting is now expected to begin, after which the results of the central committee election will be announced.

Attention will then shift to the second phase of voting, which will determine the party’s office-bearers, including key leadership positions.

According to the party’s election rules, only candidates elected as central committee members in the first phase are eligible to contest for office-bearer positions and participate in the second-round election.

As a result, the outcome of the central committee vote will play a decisive role in shaping the competition for the party’s top leadership posts.

The second phase of voting will be held only after the counting process is completed and the results of the first phase are officially announced. Party leaders and delegates are expected to begin preparations for the next round once the central committee election outcome is finalized.
