Westerly winds active, light rain likely today



KATHMANDU: The country is currently experiencing partly to generally cloudy weather due to the partial influence of westerly and local winds.

Hilly and mountainous regions, including Koshi Province, remain generally cloudy, while other areas are partly cloudy.

According to the Weather Forecasting Division, light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning are occurring at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

This afternoon, hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the hilly and mountainous regions will see partly cloudy conditions.

The Terai region is likely to remain mostly clear. There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning at some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in other provinces.

Tonight, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly and mountainous regions, including Sudurpaschim Province, while the Terai will see partly cloudy to mostly clear conditions. The Division has urged the public to remain cautious of potential risks from rain, lightning, and snowfall.
