Fire erupts at Mahashakti Soap Industry in Hetauda



HETAUDA: A fire broke out at the warehouse of Mahashakti Soap Industry in Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City-8 last night, destroying all finished soap, raw materials, and packing supplies stored there.

According to industry manager Prakash Budhathoki, the blaze was triggered by a sudden electrical short circukhabait in the warehouse near the main factory.

“The full extent of the damage cannot be assessed immediately,” Budhathoki said. “Everything inside the warehouse has been reduced to ashes. Based on initial estimates, the loss could be around Rs 100–120 million.”

Authorities and locals rushed to control the fire after it erupted in the middle of the night. Two fire engines from Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City, along with joint teams of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, worked with local residents to bring the fire under control, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pushkar Bogati, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Makawanpur. Despite these efforts, the fire caused significant damage before being contained.
