Unconscious youth rescued near bus park with Rs 118,000 in cash



JHAPA: Police have rescued an unconscious youth along with Rs 118,000 in cash from near the bus park area in Mechinagar Municipality-6,Kakarbhitta.

A team from the Area Police Office, Kakarbhitta, rescued 32-year-old Hari Thapa of Rampur Rural Municipality-2 in Palpa, who was found lying unconscious on the road at around 6 pm on Saturday after allegedly consuming excessive alcohol, according to District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka.

Thapa was immediately taken to AMDA Hospital in Dhulabari for treatment following the rescue. He has since been discharged, but has not yet come into contact with police, DSP Khadka said.

Police said the recovered cash has been kept safely at the Area Police Office, Kakarbhitta. Despite attempts to reach him via mobile phone, Thapa has not responded so far.

Authorities said the money will be handed over once he is contacted and proper verification is completed.

According to police, Thapa had returned to Nepal from India and had booked a ticket to Kathmandu on a night bus through the Nepal-India Bus Service on Saturday. However, he reportedly missed the bus after falling into a drunken state.
