Stronger, more accountable democracy needed: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (nc) President Gagan Kumar Thapa has emphasized the need for a stronger, more accountable, and people-oriented democracy as the way forward.

In a message on the occasion of Loktantra Diwas, Thapa said such a democratic system is essential to bridge the gap between public expectations and actual outcomes.

Paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for people’s rights and democracy, he stated that it is a shared responsibility to ensure that the achievements of democratic movements are felt in people’s daily lives rather than remaining confined to history.

“The need of the hour is to win public trust through good governance and development by effectively implementing the spirit of the constitution,” the message reads.
