113 detained in police ‘sweep operation’ targeting public disturbances and illegal activities



CHITWAN: The District Police Office, Chitwan, has detained 113 individuals in a special “sweep operation” carried out to control various offenses.

According to police, the operation conducted on Thursday targeted individuals involved in drug use and distribution, those causing public nuisance under the influence of alcohol, and people harassing passengers by forcefully pulling their bags and belongings against their will.

Police said action was also taken against individuals obstructing service delivery at government offices, as well as drivers modifying vehicles and operating motorcycles in ways that contribute to noise pollution.

The District Police Office stated that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to maintain public order and ensure smoother service delivery.
