Israel strikes over 3,000 Iranian targets since start of war: IDF

JERUSALEM: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Tuesday that it has struck more than 3,000 targets in Iran since the military operation began on February 28.

According to the IDF, the strikes aim to degrade Iran’s “core systems and capabilities.” On Monday, dozens of Israeli Air Force fighter jets carried out a large-scale wave of airstrikes targeting infrastructure sites in central Tehran, based on real-time intelligence.

The targeted sites included several command centers, two belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization and one affiliated with Iran’s Intelligence Ministry. Weapons storage facilities and air defense systems were also hit, the IDF said.

The Israeli-U.S. strikes against Iran have now entered their third week, with the conflict spreading across the Middle East. Iran and its regional allies have responded with missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli and U.S. bases and assets in the region.

Early Tuesday, Iran launched a new wave of missiles towards Israel, according to state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, reporting that the missiles passed through several Israeli missile defense systems.
