Temporary election policeman dies in Baitadi



BAITADI: A temporary policeman deployed for election security has died in Baitadi.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Prasad Bhatta, 38, of Hatranga in Melauli Municipality-6. According to District Police Spokesperson and Police Inspector Suraj Singh, Bhatta, who had been assigned to the Area Police Office in Melauli, suddenly fainted at home on Monday night after returning from duty.

He was rushed to Kesharpur Primary Health Center for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

This is the third death of an election-duty police personnel in the district within a short period.
