KATHMANDU: A total of 2,100 people, including Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (JSP-N) central committee member Dipendra Agrawal, have joined the CPN-UML.

At a programme held on Saturday at the UML central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, party chair KP Sharma Oli welcomed the new members by offering khada and tika.

Among those joining the UML were securities entrepreneur Agrawal, along with young businesspersons Surendra Shahi, Khagendra Thapa, Padam Saud, and Ashok Saud.

Speaking on the occasion, the new entrants said their decision reflected a shared message of addressing issues related to the development and expansion of the share market from a common platform.

The UML leadership described the mass entry as a sign of growing public trust in the party ahead of the upcoming elections.
