HETAUDA: The District Administration Office, Makwanpur, has restricted nighttime vehicle movement along the Kanti Highway and the Bhaise-Bhimfedi-Deurali-Kulekhani road section due to the increased risk of floods and landslides amid heavy rainfall.
Administrative Officer at the District Administration Office Makwanpur Santosh Subedi said vehicle movement has been regulated based on a special weather bulletin issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, which forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds from Ashoj 9 to 11.
According to Subedi, from Ashoj 9 until further notice, vehicles will be allowed to depart from Chaughada toward Kathmandu along the Kanti Highway only between 5 am and 5 pm.
Similarly, on the Bhaise-Bhimfedi-Deurali-Kulekhani road section, vehicles will be allowed to travel toward Kathmandu from Chowk Tole in Hetauda, and toward Hetauda from Humane in Phakhel and Ramchandra Bhanjyang in Sisneri, between 5 am and 5 pm.
Subedi said traffic on both the Kanti Highway and Bhaise-Bhimfedi-Deurali-Kulekhani road section will be completely closed after 7 pm during nighttime.
The administration has urged travelers to use the roads only during the designated hours in view of the potential risk of floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall.
