RSP convention delegate alleges removal from list after announcing chairmanship bid

CHITWAN: Controversy surrounding delegate selection at the Rastriya Swatantra Party’s (RSP) first general convention has deepened after a delegate claimed he was removed from the official delegate list shortly after announcing his intention to contest for the party chairmanship.

Bhola Kumar Sah (Kanu), a party representative from Bara Constituency-3, has alleged that his name was excluded from the final delegate roster after he publicly declared his candidacy for the position of party chairperson.

According to Sah, his name had initially been included in the list of convention delegates representing Madhesh Province, where he was listed at serial number 102.

However, he claims that his name disappeared from the final delegate list after he announced his plans to challenge for the party’s top post.

Expressing dissatisfaction through social media, Sah questioned the transparency of the delegate selection process and objected to what he described as his exclusion from the convention.

The allegation comes amid growing disputes over delegate representation at the convention, where several party members and leaders have raised concerns about the selection process and the exclusion of eligible representatives.

The controversy has added to tensions already surrounding the delayed convention proceedings, with disagreements over delegate lists becoming one of the central issues affecting the event.

RSP leadership has not yet issued an official response to Sah’s allegation or the broader concerns regarding delegate selection.

The latest dispute is expected to further intensify scrutiny of the party’s internal democratic processes as delegates prepare to deliberate on key organizational issues and elect a new leadership team.
