National Assembly meeting underway, federalism implementation report to be tabled

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the National Assembly is currently underway at Singha Durbar.

As per the single-point tentative agenda made public, Khimlal Devkota, coordinator of the Parliamentary Special Committee on the Study and Monitoring of Federalism Implementation, is scheduled to table the committee’s report along with province-wise reports from all seven provinces before the House.

The National Assembly meeting had been suspended following the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, which led to unrest and disruptions. After a gap of nearly four months, the Assembly reconvened for the first time on Sunday.

During Sunday’s meeting, National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal read out a letter received from the President. The session concluded after the House passed a condolence motion on the demise of National Assembly member Baldev Bohara, with the next meeting scheduled for today.
