UML Vice Chair Bishnu Paudel being brought to Kathmandu on overnight bus



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chair Bishnu Paudel, who was arrested on Monday in connection with a money laundering investigation, is being brought to Kathmandu from Surkhet on an overnight bus.

Paudel, who was detained by a joint team from the Department of Money Laundering Investigation and Nepal Police, is currently being held at the District Police Office in Surkhet.

According to the secretariat of Home Minister Sudan Gurung, preparations are underway to transport him to Kathmandu on Monday night.

Paudel was taken into custody from a hotel in Surkhet as part of the ongoing investigation into the money laundering case.

He had arrived in Surkhet on Sunday to participate in CPN-UML’s election review and party reorganisation programme.

Police in Surkhet said arrangements are being made to send him to Kathmandu later on Monday.
