CHITWAN: The closed session of the first national general convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party is taking place today in Chitwan as the party moves forward with key organizational and leadership decisions.
The convention, which was formally inaugurated on Sunday at the Guest House grounds in Bharatpur, has entered its closed-door proceedings at the Industry Association Exhibition Center.
Party delegates have begun entering the convention hall, where discussions and decision-making on major party documents are scheduled to take place.
The closed session will be chaired by the party’s General Secretary and is expected to focus on amendments to the party statute, presentation and endorsement of important organizational, political and financial reports, as well as other key policy documents.
The convention is also expected to hand over full responsibility for the leadership election process to the party’s Election Committee following the completion of deliberations.
The three-day convention is being viewed as a milestone event for the RSP, as it seeks to finalize its revised statute and elect a new leadership team through its first national convention since the party’s formation.
