UML candidates in Bhaktapur unveil election manifesto



KATHMANDU: Candidates of the CPN UML in Bhaktapur have made their election commitments public for the upcoming House of Representatives election.

Speaking at a press conference in Bhaktapur on Sunday, UML candidate for Bhaktapur Constituency No. 1, Som Prasad Mishra, and candidate for Constituency No. 2, Mahesh Basnet, unveiled their election manifesto.

Both candidates presented the party’s clear stance on issues of nation and nationalism, pledging to ensure good governance, livelihood opportunities, and employment in the country.

Basnet, who is also a UML secretary, said preventing foreign interference in the country would be a key agenda in this election. He stated that they would approach the people not as rulers but as public servants and ensure that no one would be allowed to engage in anti-national activities in the future.

He also pledged to preserve and promote Bhaktapur’s heritage and develop it further as a cultural and tourism hub.

Similarly, candidate Som Prasad Mishra outlined agendas including formulating land-use classification policies that reflect public sentiment, ensuring transparency in constitutional appointments, and discouraging corruption and irregularities.
