JHAPA: Chief District Officer (CDO) Shiva Ram Gelal has classified 95 polling stations in Jhapa as highly sensitive ahead of the House of Representatives election on March 5.
Out of the district’s 285 polling sites, 147 are considered sensitive, while 43 are marked as normal. Gelal said security forces, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the Nepal Army, will be deployed to ensure a safe and fear-free voting environment.
He also noted that Constituency No. 5 requires additional security personnel compared to previous elections, prompting a request to the provincial government for reinforcements.
Jhapa, which has five constituencies, will elect five House of Representatives members, with over 713,000 voters expected to cast ballots.
