KATHMANDU: Both Houses of the Federal Parliament are scheduled to meet today, with the House of Representatives (HoR) and National Assembly (NA) set to discuss several legislative matters.
The meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled to begin at 1 pm at Singha Durbar. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal will read out the letter received from the President’s Office regarding the authentication of a bill.
Similarly, Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Sita Badi is scheduled to present a proposal seeking to send the Children’s (First Amendment) Bill, 2083 BS to the relevant committee for clause-by-clause discussion.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam, on behalf of Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Balendra Shah, will present a proposal seeking passage of the National Service Party Bill, 2083 BS.
The National Assembly will meet at 1:15 pm. Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Geeta Chaudhary is scheduled to respond to oral questions related to her ministry. Chaudhary will also present a proposal seeking passage of the Contagious Animal Diseases (Control) Bill, 2083.
Meanwhile, meetings of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, and Infrastructure Development Committee are also scheduled to take place today.
