KATHMANDU: Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security Sita Badi held talks with Binu Yadav, who has been staging a sit-in protest at the main entrance of Singha Durbar for the past eight days.
During the meeting held at the ministry on Tuesday, Yadav shared her concerns regarding the legal process related to her case, health condition, livelihood and other demands she has been raising.
Yadav also submitted a written request to the ministry, urging it to take initiatives for the implementation of an agreement previously reached with the government.
Minister Badi said the ministry was sensitive to the issues raised by Yadav and assured that necessary initiatives, coordination and facilitation would be carried out on matters falling under the ministry’s jurisdiction.
She said the ministry would coordinate with concerned agencies and provide necessary support in accordance with legal procedures.
The meeting also discussed Yadav’s health condition, required assistance and issues related to her livelihood.
It was further agreed that matters beyond the ministry’s jurisdiction would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for necessary action.
Minister Badi said the government remains sensitive to citizens’ grievances and concerns, adding that resolving problems through dialogue, coordination and legal processes is the government’s responsibility.
She reiterated that the ministry is committed to providing necessary support, coordination and facilitation on issues within its authority.
