ICC Cricket League 2: Nepal take on Namibia today

KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on Namibia in the opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series involving Nepal, Namibia and the Netherlands, beginning in the Netherlands from today.

The match will start at 2:45 PM Nepali time in Utrecht.

The ongoing series, along with Nepal’s final series in the League 2 campaign, holds significant importance for the national team, which currently sits fifth in the points table with 28 points from 28 matches.

If Nepal finishes among the top four teams in the League 2 standings, the team will secure direct qualification for the ODI World Cup Qualifiers. Similarly, a top-six finish will guarantee Nepal’s ODI status remains intact.

Namibia is currently placed seventh in the points table with 22 points from 28 matches, while the Netherlands occupies third place with 32 points.

Nepal will aim to continue the momentum gained from home conditions and adapt successfully to the overseas environment during the series.
