RSP’s General Convention draws 4,211 representatives



CHITWAN: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has finalized the list of representatives for its first general convention, which begins here today. A total of 4,211 representatives will participate in the event.

Representatives have been selected under various categories, including provincial committees, international divisions, nominations and adjusted memberships.

According to Shankar Shrestha, secretary at the party’s Organization Department, the party’s 33 international divisions will send 170 representatives. In addition, 138 representatives have been nominated by the party president in accordance with the party statute, while 192 representatives have been selected from among those who recently joined the party.

Provincial representation includes 364 delegates from Koshi Province, 630 from Madhes, 794 from Bagmati, 621 from Lumbini, 454 from Gandaki, 343 from Karnali and 505 from Sudurpaschim.

Municipal presidents, constituency presidents and vice presidents, district presidents, members of provincial committees and provincial departments, members of the Discipline Commission and office-bearers of the Advisory Council are also serving as representatives.

Likewise, all central members of the Federal Leadership Forum, 11 members each from the party’s 38 central departments, and 11 representatives each from the Central Election Commission, Discipline Commission and Audit Commission will participate in the convention.

Each rural municipality will send one representative, municipalities will send two, sub-metropolitan cities three and metropolitan cities four.

The convention will also include three representatives from each provincial liaison department and one from each district liaison department. Candidates who contested and lost the 2022 House of Representatives election under the party’s banner, as well as those included in the proportional representation list, have also been designated as convention representatives.
