KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council Secretariat has removed the name and photograph of senior Supreme Court Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla from the section designated for the senior-most justice.
The development comes while Justice Malla is on leave following the appointment of Manoj Kumar Sharma as Chief Justice.
Despite being on leave, Justice Malla continues to hold the position of senior-most justice at the Supreme Court.
However, the Judicial Council Secretariat has reportedly kept the section reserved for the senior-most justice vacant after removing her name and photograph.
The move comes amid ongoing discussions within the judiciary after Chief Justice Sharma reportedly expressed the view that senior justices should consider resigning.
