Cabinet approves bills to amend three key laws; forms recommendation committee for SEBON chair



KATHMANDU: The government has decided to grant approval for presenting bills to amend three existing laws in the Federal Parliament.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday decided to forward bills to amend the Special Service Act, the House of Representatives Election Act, and the Voter Registration Act for parliamentary consideration.

The government also decided to form a recommendation committee for the appointment of the Chairperson of the Securities Board of Nepal.

According to the decision, a committee has been formed under the coordination of Vice Chair of the National Planning Commission Gunakar Bhatta for recommending candidates for the post.

The committee includes Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Ghanshyam Upadhyay and Bhuvan Kumar Dahal as members.

The Cabinet meeting is expected to pave the way for further legislative reforms and institutional appointments in key regulatory bodies.
