Two die in house fire in Udayapur



KATHMANDU: Two people died in a fire that broke out in Beltar Bazaar of Chaudandigadhi Municipality–7 in Udayapur District on Sunday morning.

According to police, the fire occurred at the house of 70-year-old Laxminarayan Khadka in Beltar Bazaar. Khadka and 30-year-old Pawan Khadka lost their lives in the incident.

Information Officer at the District Police Office, Niranjan Thapa, said the fire also damaged the houses of Khadka’s neighbors Rabin Das and Sakal Dev.

The fire was brought under control with the help of fire engines from nearby Triyuga Municipality and Chaudandigadhi Municipality, along with police personnel and local residents.

Police said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The incident caused an estimated property loss of around Rs 6.6 million.
