Langtang National Park marks 11th wildlife week with awareness programmes

RASUWA: Langtang National Park observed the 11th Wildlife Week by organizing a series of awareness programmes aimed at promoting wildlife conservation and human safety.

A public awareness rally, lectures, discussions and jungle safari were held as part of the week-long event.

Issues related to forests, wildlife, biodiversity, plant conservation and human–wildlife conflict were highlighted during the programmes. Local residents, people’s representatives, conservation campaigners, organizations, park staff and personnel from the Nepali Army involved in wildlife protection participated in the events.

During the programmes, locals were reminded that they must obtain permits from Langtang National Park before entering forest areas. Participants were also encouraged to foster positive behaviour toward wildlife and informed about safety precautions while entering forests.

Senior Conservation Officer Shyam Kumar Sah said the initiative aims to build a collective campaign to conserve wild animals and plants while ensuring human safety.

The park spreads across parts of Rasuwa District, Nuwakot District and Sindhupalchok District.

Ranger Keshav Dhodari said activities to protect and promote biodiversity in the park area are ongoing.
