Birgunj Customs collects Rs 177 billion in nine months



BIRGUNJ: Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 177.66 billion in revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

The office recorded an increase of about 10 percent, or Rs 16.2 billion, compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year. According to Information Officer Uday Singh Bista, the customs office has achieved around 89 percent of its nine-month revenue target.

The Department of Customs had set a nine-month target of Rs 199.34 billion for Birgunj Customs. Over the months, the office collected Rs 18.44 billion in Shrawan, Rs 20.73 billion in Bhadra, Rs 19.9 billion in Asoj, Rs 17.33 billion in Kartik, Rs 20.80 billion in Mangsir, Rs 20.2 billion in Poush, Rs 18.92 billion in Magh, Rs 19.34 billion in Falgun, and Rs 22.82 billion in Chaitra.

For the full fiscal year, the annual revenue target has been set at Rs 273.39 billion. So far, the office has achieved around 65 percent of this goal within nine months, with three months still remaining, leaving room for additional revenue collection.
