Central Security Committee meets at Home Ministry to discuss Madhesh–Tarai security situation



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Central Security Committee is underway at the Ministry of Home Affairs, focusing on contemporary national issues, overall law and order, and election security.

The meeting is being chaired by Home Minister and Central Security Committee Chair Om Prakash Aryal, with the participation of senior officials from all four security agencies.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the meeting is holding detailed discussions particularly on recent ethnic and religious sensitivities observed in the Madhesh–Tarai region, as well as potential security challenges related to the upcoming elections.

As the election date approaches, the committee is also assessing possible risks, reviewing security strategies, and discussing necessary coordination measures. The ministry said required decisions will be taken following the discussions.
