Nonagenarian dies in road accident in Gorkha



GORKHA: A 95-year-old woman has lost her life after being struck by a passenger bus in Gorkha. Sukmaya Lama, a local resident aged 95, succumbed to her injuries after being hit by a bus at the Dasakhilo market located in Ward No. 12 of Gorkha Municipality around 2 pm on Saturday.

Rajkumar Shrestha, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office in Gorkha, reported that Lama was critically injured when a bus with the registration number No. 5B 5030, traveling from Kathmandu to Gorkha, hit her.

She died while receiving treatment at the Province Hospital in Gorkha.

The police are currently investigating the incident and have taken the driver and the vehicle into custody.
