Temporary police personnel arrested for burning UML flag in Saptari



SAPTARI: A temporary police personnel has been arrested on the charge of burning a party flag in Saptari Constituency No. 2.

According to police, the incident took place at Bhagwatpur Chowk in Mahadeva Rural Municipality–5, where a flag of the CPN-UML had been hung on a rope for election campaigning.

Police said the accused allegedly removed the flag and set it on fire.

The arrested has been identified as 25-year-old Harinarayan Mandal of Mahadeva Rural Municipality–5. It has been revealed that Mandal was serving as a temporary police personnel assigned for election duty.

Deputy Superintendent of Police and Information Officer at the District Police Office, Saptari, Dambar Bahadur Puri, said further investigation into the incident is underway.
