NEPSE slips 9.43 points amid broad-based sectoral decline



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index declined by 9.43 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,705.38.

According to NEPSE, a total of 21,641,883 shares of 324 listed companies were traded through 89,766 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 8.92 billion.

Except for the ‘Others’ group, which rose marginally by 0.26 percent, all sectoral indices closed in the red. Banking declined by 0.18 percent, development banks by 0.59 percent, finance by 1.67 percent, hotels and tourism by 1.88 percent, and hydropower by 0.03 percent.

Similarly, the investment index fell by 0.64 percent, life insurance by 0.36 percent, manufacturing and processing by 0.46 percent, microfinance by 0.26 percent, mutual funds by 0.65 percent, non-life insurance by 0.30 percent, and trading by 1.21 percent.
