KATHMANDU: Weather conditions across Nepal are being influenced by the prevailing monsoon winds, with a partial influence of westerly winds as well.
According to the Weather Forecasting Division, the monsoon trough is currently positioned south of its normal location. As a result, generally cloudy conditions are expected across the Himalayan and hilly regions, while partly cloudy skies are likely in the Terai.
The Division has forecast moderate rain and snowfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, at some places in the Himalayan and hilly regions. Similar conditions, including moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning, are likely at one or two places in the Terai.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, according to the division.
The weather system may lead to localized disruptions, particularly in areas vulnerable to rainfall-related incidents. The division has advised people in potentially affected areas to remain alert and follow weather updates and official advisories.
