KANCHANPUR: Fourteen women from Bhimdatta Municipality in Kanchanpur have gone missing after entering a forest inside Shuklaphanta National Park to collect wild mushrooms, police said.
According to District Police Office spokesperson DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat, the women entered the national park at around 11:00 am on Sunday from Bagphanta in Ward No. 19 of Bhimdatta Municipality.
Police said the missing women are Sakani Chaudhary, Sabita Chaudhary, Sani Chaudhary, Sakiya Chaudhary, Rama Chaudhary, Laxmi Chaudhary, Manisha Chaudhary, Rita Chaudhary, Sunita Chaudhary, Bimala Agri, Sumitra Sunar, Shanti Sunar, Pratiksha Sunar and Sibani Sunar.
According to police, the women had split into two separate groups before heading into the forest to collect mushrooms.
Authorities have launched efforts to locate the missing women. Further details are awaited.
