Nepal–UAE match interrupted by rain



KATHMANDU:  The first match between Nepal national cricket team and United Arab Emirates national cricket team in the T20 International series was interrupted due to rain.

The match was halted while play was underway at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground after rainfall stopped the game.

Nepal had won the toss and opted to bat first. Before the interruption, Nepal had scored 122 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18.5 overs.

The Nepali squad for the match includes captain Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Arjun Saud, Sundeep Jora, Bashir Ahmad, Gulshan Jha, Nandan Yadav, Hemant Dhami, and Sher Malla.

The team, featuring a strong presence of young players alongside experienced names, is expected to mark a new phase for Nepal in the T20 format. Regular captain Rohit Paudel is not playing in the series.

According to the Cricket Association of Nepal, the second match of the night series is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
